Scouting Report
Ellison is a very skilled combo guard that likes to play in the open court. He is a very intelligent basketball player that usually makes the right decision. He is very good at using screens to create space and getting room for his jumper. He is still developing a 3-point shot, but he is very dependable at shooting off the dribble. He is still growing into is body, so he will need to continue to lift weights and get stronger. Now that he’s grown to about 6-5, he’s become a much more dangerous scorer, able to rise up and hit over most defenders and his handle is improving as well. He’s still far from a polished product but his upside is what has the high-majors intrigued; having Pervis Ellison as a father and coach doesn’t hurt, either. –April 29, 2014

(July 15, 2014): At the Reebok Breakout Classic, Ellison named an offer from Xavier, along with interest from UConn, Kentucky, Syracuse, Ohio State, and Miami. He has visited every school that has offered him so far, and plans on taking some more later in the Summer. Those visits will depend on what schools offer this month.

(April 28, 2014): At the Pitt Jam Fest, Ellison told CoBL he already has offers from Maryland, Penn State, Temple, La Salle and Saint Joseph’s and has interest from VCU, Virginia, Miami, Syracuse and Ohio State; he said he’s hearing most from Maryland and VCU.

(Dec. 6, 2013): CoBL spoke to Ellison after he scored 11 points in a 59-47 win over Academy New Church. Currently, his offers are from Temple, Saint Joseph’s, La Salle and Penn State, with interest from Maryland, Syracuse, Miami and Xavier.
