It’s been quite a while, perhaps a bit too long, but the PoBL is back with a bit of a twist. As always, Josh Verlin (@jmverlin) is behind the microphone and our usual co-host, Ian Simon, couldn’t join the show, so CoBL staffer Jeff Neiburg (@Jeff_Neiburg) joined the podcast for the first time.
Kicking off the podcast, fresh off of a big week and a half, was former Penn assistant coach Jason Polykoff. On the heels of accepting his first collegiate head coaching position at Division III Earlham College (Ind.), Polykoff was recently engaged this weekend. Besides talking about his new gig in Indiana, Polykoff dives into Penn’s incoming recruiting class and how they’ll contribute to the program.
Keeping up with the Penn conversation, our second guest was recent Quakers-commit and rising Lower Merion senior, Jule Brown. Brown talks about his decision to commit to Penn as well as his current AAU campaign with the Jersey Shore Warriors.
Following Brown is Brian Flinn (@BFlinnFuture150) of Future150.com. Flinn talks about his recent trip to Dallas covering the EYBL circuit and provides some insight into some recruiting of a couple Team Final 17U players. Flinn also discusses the rise of Westtown Friend’s 7-foot-1 center Georgios Papagiannis.
Our final guest was former Neumann-Goretti assistant and current Archbishop Wood head coach John Mosco. Mosco talks about his first year at Wood and the future of the program. He also discusses the legacy left by the four graduating starters from Neumann-Goretti, who he spent plenty of time with.
