Drexel will be losing guard Aquil Younger after the school year, CoBL has learned.
Rodney Wescott, Younger’s former AAU coach, told CoBL Tuesday that the sophomore guard will end his time with the Dragons at the end of the semester. A source at Drexel confirmed the news.
Younger played in all 31 games last year for Bruiser Flint. The Philadelphia product averaged 1.4 points, 1.0 rebounds and 0.7 assists while seeing 8.3 minutes of action.
The sophomore saw his minutes increase this year from his freshman year due to the injury of Chris Fouch, but Fouch will be back for a sixth season and the Dragons’ backcourt is crowded for 2012-13.
Drexel’s backcourt will return Fouch, senior Frantz Massenat, redshirt sophomore Tavon Allen and junior Damion Lee from this season and will add Kiski product Major Canady and Seton Hall transfer Freddie Wilson.
There is no word yet of where the Simon Gratz grad could land.
CoBL will have more on this story as it becomes available.
