The Delaware Blue Hens (6-8, 1-0 CAA) started conference play on the right foot with a 84-72 victory over the Old Dominion Monarchs (2-13, 0-3 CAA).
Blue Hens guard Devon Saddler led the way with a game-high 27 points off of 7-of-13 shooting (53.8 percent), including going 10-of-10 from the free throw line. Fellow guard Jarvis Threatt added 19 points, six rebounds and five assists to the cause.
The Monarchs were paced by four double-digit scorers, led by guard Keenan Palmore‘s 14 points. Palmore also dished out five assists and collected three steals in the losing effort.
Delaware was projected to finished second in the CAA, behind the Drexel Dragons (5-8, 1-0 CAA). The Blue Hens are currently on a three-game winning streak and look to extend it when the Hofstra Pride visit the Bob Carpenter Center on Wednesday, January 9th for a 7:00PM matchup.
